A polythene manufacturing company has been gutted by fire at Ahmmadiya Bus Stop , Abule-Egba area of Lagos State. Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said there was no casualty. It was learnt that the incident occurred on Saturday while production was ongoing at the factory on Wifunke Street, behind Total Filling Station, Abule-Egba. According to some factory attendants, the fire sparked off from a section of the plant due to overheating of a production unit. Many Nigerians on Friday via social media demanded justice for a 16-year-old girl, Tina Ezekwe, allegedly killed by a trigger-happy policeman in the Iyana Oworo area of Lagos on Tuesday. The cop was said to be from the Bariga Police Division. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the extension of the appointment of Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal with effect from June 3, 2020, for a further period of three months. Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, in statement yesterday, said the appointment was pursuant to Section 238(4) and (5) of the Constitution 1999 (as amended). President Trump has terminated the partnership between the World Health Organization and the US, according to remarks he made today outside the White House. The Osun Government says an 82-year-old woman recovered from the coronavirus disease in the state, against the belief that elderly people with chronic diseases are the highest risk group. Dr Rafiu Isamotu, the State Commissioner for Health, confirmed the recovery in a statement on Friday in Osogbo. A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out the case against Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Senator Adeleke was charged to court by the Federal Government over alleged exam malpractice. The prosecution counsel, Mr. Simon Lough filed an application for the withdrawal of charges against the Senator.
