Former Senator Dino Melaye has expressed satisfaction with the ruling of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court regarding the money laundering case involving former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.

AFRIPOST reports that on Tuesday, the court ordered Bello’s detention at Kuje Correctional Centre while awaiting a decision on his bail application.

The case, filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), involves allegations of laundering N110 billion.

Justice Maryann Anenih scheduled further hearings for January 29 and 30, as well as February 25 and 27.

In a statement shared on his official X account, Melaye reflected on a prediction he made six years ago, claiming he had foreseen Bello’s imprisonment.

He remarked, “Six years ago, SDM predicted Yahaya Bello would end up in prison. Today, he will be spending Christmas in Kuje prison. All powers belong to God.”
