Dr. Femi Akinkuebi, a prominent industrialist and Managing Director of Ore Industrial Park, has extended his congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his swearing-in as the Executive Governor of Ondo State.

Describing the governor’s new mandate as an opportunity for transformative leadership, Dr. Akinkuebi expressed confidence in Aiyedatiwa’s ability to drive progress in industrialization, security, and youth empowerment.

He emphasized the need to maximize Ondo’s natural and human resources, shifting from raw material exports to value-added processing, particularly in cocoa production.

He proposed the establishment of Cocoa Processing Zones in Idanre, Ondo West, and Owo to boost local economies and generate employment.

Additionally, he urged the government to enhance rural road infrastructure through partnerships with the World Bank’s RAAMP-SU project to facilitate efficient transportation of goods.

Dr. Akinkuebi introduced the Ise Logun Ise initiative, a community-based industrialization model, advocating for specialized processing industries across different local governments.

These include cocoa processing in Idanre and Ondo West, palm oil refining in Okitipupa and Ese-Odo, cassava processing in Akoko, and fisheries development in Ilaje.

He highlighted the potential for job creation and economic expansion through such targeted investments.

Calling for the full implementation of the Ondo Deep Seaport, he described it as a billion-dollar venture capable of positioning the state as a major trade hub.

He also urged the government to develop Araromi Beach into a prime tourist destination, enhancing hospitality and revenue generation.

On security, Dr. Akinkuebi stressed the importance of equipping the Amotekun Corps with modern surveillance technology and fostering collaboration between local security agencies to create a safe environment for investors.

He further recommended transitioning to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as an alternative to petrol, citing its potential to reduce transportation costs and ease economic burdens.

Recognizing the need for a tech-driven future, he advocated for the establishment of innovation hubs, startup grants, and partnerships with global tech firms to equip Ondo’s youth with skills in AI, blockchain, and software development.

Dr. Akinkuebi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, emphasizing the need for strategic policies and public-private collaboration to drive Ondo State toward greater prosperity.
