Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has confirmed her visit to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters in Abuja to clarify financial matters related to her tenure.

According to PUNCH Online, EFCC investigators questioned the former minister over allegations of a N138 million fraud.

In a series of posts on her official X handle on Friday, Kennedy-Ohanenye provided details of her visit, stating that she arrived at 2:15 p.m., engaged in discussions from 2:50 p.m., and departed at 6:50 p.m. She said she offered “comprehensive clarifications” regarding her actions while in office.

The former minister commended the EFCC for its professionalism and assured the agency of her full cooperation in any further investigations.

“I commend the EFCC for their professionalism and hospitality, and I appreciate the opportunity to address the matters that have recently been circulating in the media,” she stated.

She also defended her financial management during her tenure, emphasizing that she handled public funds responsibly.

She added that she personally contributed resources to support initiatives under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“During my tenure, my team and I executed our duties diligently, utilizing available resources effectively, and even supplementing with personal funds, demonstrating our dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigerian women and children,” she said.
