The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal altercation that led to the death of a man on Victoria Island.
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos. According to him, the incident occurred on Saturday along NPA Road, Victoria Island.
Hundeyin said the case was reported at the Victoria Island Police Division by a concerned individual.
“The suspects and the victim were involved in a fight over an undisclosed issue. During the altercation, the victim sustained serious injuries,” he stated.
The injured man was rushed to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
Following the report, police detectives visited the scene of the incident and later went to the hospital, where the body was examined and photographed. The corpse has since been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.
The suspects have been taken into custody and are being held as investigations continue.
