Why i rejected N30m from Kebbi Gov– Pastor Paul Enenche

Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has revealed why he declined a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, during a recent crusade held in the state.

Speaking during a Sunday service at the church’s headquarters in Abuja, Enenche said the decision was guided by a long-standing personal conviction not to accept money from politicians or government officials.

“For some, this might come as a surprise because they don’t really know who we are,” he said.

“But those familiar with us understand this is how we have always lived and what we’ve consistently stood for.”

According to the clergyman, the rejection was not a personal statement against Governor Idris but a continuation of a principle he has upheld for over two decades—maintaining financial independence from political and government sources.

He recounted several similar decisions in the past, including declining an honorarium after accompanying former President Goodluck Jonathan on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 2014.

“Upon our return, the board chairman offered me an envelope as appreciation for the trip. I said, ‘No, thank you,’” Enenche said.

He added that even when former President Jonathan visited Dunamis headquarters, no funds were received from him or his administration.

“Not one naira of government money went into the construction of this church building,” he emphasized.

Enenche also revealed that he had turned down a car gift from a childhood friend who later became a minister, as well as monetary offers from former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

“I deliberately avoid any connection to government funds,” he said, noting that this separation allows him to speak truthfully and without fear to those in authority.
