Former Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has explained his recent absence from the public space, attributing it to his academic pursuits.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Monday, Melaye said he deliberately kept a low profile in order to concentrate fully on his studies.
“I have been quiet because I was in school. I did not want Nigeria to happen to me. I needed them to let me graduate,” he said.
Melaye noted that his decision has paid off, as he has not only graduated but has also been called to the Nigerian Bar.
“I have graduated now, and I have been called to the largest bar in Africa,” he added.
