Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have gunned down three suspected kidnappers in a precision raid on their hideout in Bakin Kogi, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation, carried out on December 11, was revealed on Friday by security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post on X.
Makama said the troops, advancing on the criminals’ location, came under heavy fire but swiftly responded, overwhelming the gang.
“A sweep of the area later revealed the bodies of three suspected kidnappers who were neutralised during the exchange,” he wrote.
According to security sources quoted in the report, the suspects were believed to be part of a ruthless syndicate responsible for repeated kidnappings and assaults on travellers along the Dangoma–Godogodo axis.
The sources added that troops have launched further operations to track down fleeing members of the gang and dismantle their network.
