The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of twin princes with his wife, Mariam Ajibola, describing the development as a joyous blessing to the Royal House of Oduduwa.
The revered monarch disclosed the news in a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, where he expressed gratitude to God for the safe delivery of the babies.
According to the monarch, both Queen Mariam and the newborn princes are in good health.
“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again,” the statement partly read.
The monarch also congratulated members of the House of Oduduwa and the royal family over the arrival of the twins.
“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today,” he added.
The announcement has since attracted congratulatory messages from well-wishers, traditional rulers and admirers of the monarch across the country.
The birth of the twins marks another significant moment in the royal household of the Ooni, whose family life has remained a subject of public interest in recent years.
Following the end of his marriage to former queen, Olori Naomi, the monarch married several wives within a short period, including Queen Mariam Ajibola.
