One dead, 18 injured in ghastly bus crash
A road accident along the Numan axis of Adamawa State has claimed the life of one passenger, leaving 18 others injured.
The crash, which occurred on Saturday near Numan town, involved a commercial bus carrying 19 occupants, including the driver.
The passengers were said to comprise 14 men and five women, with the lone fatality identified as a Cameroonian national.
Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the area, Idi Timothy, said preliminary findings showed that excessive speed led to the crash.
He appealed once again to motorists to obey traffic laws to prevent needless deaths.
Timothy added that the sum of N40,000 and 300,000 CFA found on the deceased was handed over to relatives, who also took custody of the body for burial.
