The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says no fewer than four persons lost their lives in a ghastly auto crash on the Ugwu Onyeama axis of the Enugu-Onitsha highway. FRSC sector commander Adeyemi Sokunbi confirmed the incident on Wednesday in Enugu. Mr Sokunbi said that the accident happened between 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on June 11 when a trailer ladened with kerosene lost control and rammed into six other vehicles. The Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has called on the Chief Justice of the Federation, Olukayode Ariwoola, to strengthen existing laws with stiffer punishment for traffic offenders. President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday slipped while boarding the parade vehicle at the venue of the 2024 Democracy Day. The President had approached the vehicle shortly after he arrived at the Eagles Square, Abuja venue of the programme. Our correspondent observed that the President lost his footing momentarily as he was about to step into the vehicle. However, despite the slip, the President quickly regained his balance and continued with the proceedings.
