The Kebbi State Police Command has recovered vandalised high-tension cables and motorcycles allegedly abandoned by fleeing suspects during a patrol operation in Ribah District, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the suspected vandals fled upon sighting a joint patrol team of police officers and local vigilantes around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, along the Saki/Unashi road.
“They abandoned their motorcycles and the vandalised cables as they fled to avoid being caught,” the statement noted.
The recovered items have been secured as police continue their investigation to identify and apprehend the culprits.
Commending the patrol team, Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, praised their swift and professional response.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting critical infrastructure and ensuring public safety.
Sani also encouraged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
