The Ondo State House of Assembly is set to begin screening commissioner-nominees submitted by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, with the exercise commencing today in Akure.
Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, announced during plenary on Wednesday that the Assembly had received the governor’s letter listing the nominees, prompting the screening process.
He stated that the exercise would be conducted in batches at the Assembly’s hallowed chamber over three days—today, Friday, and next Monday.
“The commissioner-nominees forwarded to the House by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will undergo thorough screening by the Committee of the Whole House, which I will chair,” Oladiji said.
He directed all nominees to come with their original credentials and at least 40 copies of their curriculum vitae.
Also speaking, the Majority Leader, Oshati Olatunji, moved a motion for the governor’s letter to be referred to the Committee of the Whole for detailed consideration.
“As representatives of the people, we assure Ondo residents that a thorough screening process will be conducted. The exercise will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday,” he added.
