The City Boy Movement in Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State has inaugurated its local government executives and ward coordinators as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots structure.
The event, held on May 1, 2026, in Bolorunduro, was convened by the Local Government Coordinator, Rotn. Akinjolie Akintayo, who emphasised the group’s commitment to youth empowerment and political mobilisation.
Speaking at the inauguration, Akintayo said the movement was designed to create opportunities for members through empowerment initiatives, job creation, and access to political appointments, urging members to remain dedicated.
“The movement is here to stay. It offers numerous opportunities, and we must remain committed to its growth and success,” he said.
He added that the group would continue to support the President in implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots level, while appreciating stakeholders for their presence.
The State Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Tomide Akinribido, who presided over the inauguration, charged the newly appointed executives to be diligent in discharging their duties, noting that their performance would determine the growth of the movement across the local government.
“Much is expected from you. If you remain united and committed, the rewards will not only benefit members but also the wider community,” Akinribido said.
Goodwill messages were delivered by stakeholders, including the Ondo East Youth Council President, who pledged support for the movement, and the APC Woman Leader in the area, who commended the leadership and promised to mobilise further backing from political leaders.
The inauguration also saw the swearing-in of ward coordinators across the 10 wards in the local government, conducted by the local coordinator and his executive team.
In his vote of thanks, one of the ward coordinators expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their support and called for unity among members to achieve the objectives of the movement.
